Dr. Michael Tobler
Dr. Michael Tobler grew up in Montrose, CO as the second oldest child in a family of eight children (2 sisters and 5 brothers). He is unique in that he intended to be a dentist from the time he was in middle school. After graduating from Montrose High School, Dr. Tobler attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and obtained a B.S. degree in Physical Education: Emphasis Exercise Science. He did interrupt his studies for two years to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Russia where he learned to speak Russian. After BYU, he attended the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Denver/Aurora, where he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors.
Dr. Tobler moved back to his hometown of Montrose, CO where he practiced all aspects of general dentistry for several years. While starting and operating his own independent private practice, he also served as a delegate to the Colorado Dental Association for seven years and was one of 10 Colorado dentists invited to represent the state on a national level advocating legislative issues on Capitol Hill that affect dental professionals’ ability to provide quality, affordable care to the patients we serve. He also served for four years as an officer for the Western Colorado Dental Society, including a year as President, during which time he rubbed shoulders with many other highly trained dental professionals from around the state and country. He is an experienced clinician and totally committed to the highest quality of care.
After seeing a high number of children in practice, Dr. Tobler felt inspired to pursue advanced specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry. He moved with his family to Rochester, NY, where he spent nearly three years. He worked at the Eastman Dental Center/University of Rochester and Golisano's Children Hospital, and received his specialty certification in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Western Colorado Dental Society.
Dr. Tobler loves outdoor recreation, nearly all sports, especially soccer, reading and writing, and is actively involved with his church and other community efforts. Dr. Tobler is now continuing his dream of practicing in the mountains of Colorado and is excited to have relocated back with his wife, April, and their three young children. As an active young family, they look forward to exploring and learning of all the outdoor and community activities this area of Colorado offers.
